BaTo Cafe on Heßstraße 71 offers a quietly inviting spot in Munich’s Schwabing district, tailored to those looking for a relaxed café experience beyond the usual hustle. It’s the kind of place where mornings start gently—weekday early risers find a calm environment with free Wi-Fi, making it suitable for working on a laptop or catching up on reading without the typical café noise.

The space is thoughtfully designed with an open layout that keeps the seating sparse enough to maintain a sense of calm, which is appreciated by regulars who come here to unwind or have meaningful conversations. Locals tend to enjoy lingering over their coffee or iced drinks well into the afternoon and early evening, where the vibe stays mellow yet welcoming.

The coffee and tea selection receive particular attention, with standout options like the iced raspberry matcha latte earning praise for its distinctive flavor. Complementing the drinks, BaTo serves a solid variety of baked goods—Kirschkuchen and Sacher stand out as local favorites—and the focaccias and various rolls, including chocolate and cinnamon, provide a pleasant savory or sweet choice for a light bite.

Staffed by a notably friendly and approachable team, the café atmosphere benefits from personal touches: the owners are often present, fostering an environment where customers feel comfortable striking up deeper conversations. This adds to the sense that BaTo is more than just a quick coffee stop; it’s a small community hub for locals to connect.

Families and groups of friends find this café a fitting spot, although those with gluten sensitivities might find the current menu somewhat limiting as gluten-free options are not yet prominent. Pricing is reasonable, aligning with the neighborhood’s expectations for quality without pushing into premium territory.

In short, BaTo Cafe serves well as a neighborhood-friendly café that balances quality beverages, a cozy and open atmosphere, and a staff that engages warmly with patrons. It’s best experienced during quieter weekday mornings or relaxed afternoons, ideal for anyone craving calm, friendly service, and a thoughtfully curated menu in Munich’s café scene.

Great owners, super friendly services, deep conversations with the folks that serve you are always possible. Fantastic food from sandwiches to cakes and stylish place with a relaxed atmosphere due to the open space and lower number of tables. Iced raspberry matcha latte is oustanding. Reasonable pricing. Worth supporting the local team so stop by morning, afternoon or evening.

I genuinely love this place, it is one of the coziest cafes in Munich. Great and calm atmosphere, amazing coffee and food. Plus the staff is very friendly and kind. Perfect to go with family and friends. It would be awesome if some Gluten Free food alternatives were also available though. Nevertheless, I‘m always happy to visit!

Lovely cafe that opened just recently. The mornings during the week are quiet and it's a good place to work for a couple of hours. They have wifi and the staff is very sweet. Focaccias are really good and so are their rolls (not just cinnamon roll, they also have chocolate and some other flavours). Love coming here!

A café with a cozy, chic interior in a beautiful, old building in Schleißheimerstrase. It has multiple seating spaces and small windows close to each table. They offer delicious seasonal sweets, including freshly baked pastries (are served warm in winter), I really liked the spicy cinnamon rolls! They serve a range of strong to mild coffee beans, along with a selection of milk types. I was told that the café’s name means "with you" in Persian language.

Absolutely deserving of a five-star rating. Exquisite coffee, delectable cookies, and an astonishingly delightful cake make this café a must-visit. As a coffee aficionado, my paramount preference is the caliber of the coffee, which is truly enjoyable, rivaling some of the best cafés I’ve been to. The personnel are exceptionally amiable, and the establishment is a gem in the bustling city. The ambiance is charming and inviting, with prices that are quite reasonable for the quality offered. Wholeheartedly recommended; if fortune smiles upon you, you may also be treated to some homemade cookies that are warm and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. This café has truly created an experience that leaves you longing to return.
